Sigona’s home player M.N Njoroge was crowned the winner of the first edition of the ACT KENYA ‘Golf Day’ golf tournament held on Saturday at the par 72 Sigona Golf Club in Limuru, Kiambu County. Mr. Njoroge capitalized on his current best form and the course’s good condition to return an impressive total of 40 points to claim the title. Winning in Div 1 with 40 points Palu Dhanani beat his closest challenger Mr. Ethan Kinuthia with a total of 20 points . Playing off Div 2 , Anthony Ndonga emerged the winner with 39 points closely followed by Mahesh Patel with 37 points.

The Best first nine went to Francis Njuguna, with the best second nine award going to Zeeshan Malik, who garnered 21 and 22 points, respectively.

In the Longest Drive challenge, Nanji Imran and Shivani Patel, were the stars in the men and ladies’ categories respectively. Meanwhile PS Panesar and Dr Mary Wainaina clinched the Nearest to pin Man/ Lady respectively.

The tournament at Sigona attracted over 240 players from as far as Thika and Nairobi who participated with various prizes ranging from holdalls, golf towels, shoe bags, toiletry bags, umbrellas, wilson balls being won.

ACT ‘Golf Day’ golf tournament aims to grow the sport as well as boost conferencing capabilities for institutions and businesses by equipping them with state of the art , modern audio visual equipment and offering networking opportunities. Our next tournament will be held on 4th May 2024 at the Sigona Golf club.
